Speechless!

Think back to the last time you wrote a speech, used palm cards, or put together a slide show presentation; more than likely it was at school or university.

Reckless abuse of caffeine, hastily researched facts and sleepless nights all contributed to make the process far from ideal. By this stage, the damage was done, and all it took was one bad experience to become the source of all your anxiety whenever you were asked to speak in public again.

It’s no wonder you’re going to be a nervous wreck by the time it comes to your wedding day thinking about that all-important speech.

Stop!
Now is the time to break this debilitating cycle.

Speaking to your assembled guests at the reception is not the end-of-term exam or dreaded sales pitch to clients you think it is (unless of course you’re still to win over the in-laws), it’s the perfect time to talk with family and friends, share with them how you feel and to tell your partner what they mean to you.

So, rather than trying to imagine everyone in their underwear in order to combat your nerves, remember that all your loved ones are gathered in the one place to wish you both well for the future, and have already given you full marks before you’ve even said a word.
